ReplyMsg Posted: 7:30 AM 4/12/2008 ( msg #84 is a reply to msg #47 ) Msg Subject: RE: RE: MOJITO BABY! Someone PLEASE tell me how to make a great mojito. My wife ( Jennifer on here) doesn't drink very often, but we went out to dinner last night and she tried one and said Mmmm. I told her I would learn to make them so she can enjoy one or two when we get done boating for the day this summer. ( I watched a friend get a B. U. I. so we don't drink until the boat is docked or the truck and trailer are parked) . I tried it and thought it would be something refreshing to drink sitting on the dock, or at a campsite, or about anywhere realy. PLEASE help. |

To answer Randt's question about pre making them, this is the recipe we used. 1 cup rum 3 cups club soda 1/4 cup lime juice, we used the little juice squeeze bottles from the grocery store 1/2 cup raw sugar, we used this box of sugar called"sugar in the raw" 10 to 15 mint leaves 1 1/2 tsp lime peel mix all ingredients in blender for 10 to 15 seconds, pour over crushed ice. We left out the lime peel, couldn't figure out what it was for, used 15 mint leaves, and heaped up the sugar in the measuring cup. This seems to be the easiest way to make them, and your making a pitcherfull at a time. The crushed ice is supposed to be key in getting them right, we also added ice to the mix and made them frozen. All I can say is Mmmmm. Both ways are good, I even think these are better than an ice cold beer. |
