Wow, I think I would have disputed the bill if you had told them never mind. I know you didn't have to pay it but still. We started to cancel them this year since we never used them, but sure enough we had to get towed in for the first time.

I did dispute it, i called towboat and told them we had cancelled the call and they shouldnt pay. They told us not to worry about it, thats what they are there for. The charge was for the initial call and the travel to our slip. To insure we made it in ok and were not broke down in route. 

Funny thing was when we broke down that day I was wearing the free towboats shirt I got when I signed up.  I told the wife that the shirt was bad luck and I was never wearing it again when I go boating...

 Maybe it was a good thing you were wearing the shirt, if you wouldnt of gotten towboat you would have broke down and had a HUGE tow bill. Wear your shirt proud...

Inspecting the spare is a great idea.  Not only to make sure they are in good condition, but also to make sure you still have one.  There have been quite a few stolen lately.  What we did upon finding this out, was went out to purchase a lock.  Now, we're a bit more comfortable.  At least, it will be there if we need it.

TY just make sure you always have the key to the lock with you whenever you take the boat any where!

BEEN DOWN THAT ROAD OF HAVING TO BE TOWED ON FATHER'S DAY! HOPE TO NEVER HAVE TO GO THRU THAT PROCESS AGAIN! TOWBOAT WAS GREAT EXCEPT FOR HOW LONG WE HAD TO WAIT. ENDED UP COSTING US ANYWAY BECAUSE WE HAD TO GET A NEW TRAILER! (WHICH WE KNEW, JUST WASN'T QUITE PREPARED TO DO IT SOOO SOON!)

IT WAS PRETTY AWFUL! THEN PRETTY EXPENSIVE! IT WAS KIND OF HARD TO EVEN TELL CHRIS "HAPPY FATHER'S DAY"
