No they are refunding my money.  They didnt realize it had been signed in the wrong place so they had no problem refunding it.

I just wonder if I could get it registered a differant way.  I won it for $290 and its a galvanized 21ft trailer with rollers and new tires.  They suggested registereing it as a home built, but I dont know about that.  I wonder if I can just transfer over enough of my old trailer and just use my old registration??

Trailers normally have just a bill of sale, they dont have an actual title.

Have them give you a bill of sale and go to the DMV with just that, they should register it for you.

They wouldnt do the one I have now with just a Bill of Sale.  They needed a previous registration too, and the current seller never registered it in their own name, and they cant reach the last registered owner.

I may buy it anyway and see what happens.  It is just too good a deal to pass up

You should be able to take a bill of sale, and  have it weighed at a certified scale to the tag office. Or just use the tag off the one you have now. ( I didn't realy tell you that)  That's what I've heard of people doing.

If you go to dmv with a weight slip and tell them iot is a home built trailer they will register it for you.  I have built a few trailers and that was how we registered them.

Update----I bought a single axle Magic Tilt because they guy told me he had a 22ft boat on it without issue.  Well not so much.  Yes it holds a 20 to 22ft but at only 2700lbs.  Mine weighs over 1000 more.  So the tires, even when properly inflated, looked flat.

So it is up for sale.  I bought a tandem trailer and now I think I will be ok.  I am gonna bring the rig home Thursday and make sure the bearings and lights are all up to par.  We are going to take the boat to Inlet Harbor Friday for dinner and drinks, so we will see how it tows.

Anybody need a nice single axle trailer for maybe a center console or something?  I will sell it cheap.

Oh and these ones dont have a registration either, so gonna do the home built thing.

When I took the boat off the origional trailer, all of the crossbeams were rotted completey through.   The only thing holding the trailer together was the front welds and the very back 1x1 light bar.  I am just glad we made it home.  I dropped it off at the junkyard, I couldnt even get the tires off the rims were rusted solid to the hubs.

D, check with David's trailers.  Or, if you can make it Easter, check at surplus marine.
