State of Florida is set to increase our boat registration fee by 50% for next years registrations. Just what active boaters need, we are already paying more at the pump and now more to register the vessel. I expect fewer boaters on the waterways next year.

The gas prices are keeping me close to home and on smaller lakes when I go fishing. I remember maybe even as little as a year ago a 100 dollars would fill the boat and the truck up now it won't fill up the truck!

Well I have come to the conclution that no matter what we do,it is only going to get harder for us to enjoy our boats. The new registration fees and the higher gas prices are taxing all of us. My wife and I have decided to cut back on other things but the boat is not one of them. We have to much time and love invested in it to not enjoy it . We hope to you on the water very soon.

Recreation is what keeps us all sane, and they know it. What better way to make money than taxing the things people love to do.  I guess we'll keep playing 'till we break the piggy bank.

Isn't taxation without representation what caused the Boston Tea Party a couple of hundred years ago. It's one thing when you are getting screwed by another country but when it's your own that's even worse.

Amen!!! but what are we supposed to do? You know our government spend a lot of time and money trying to protect us from ourselves.
