If you like saltwater destinations, then you have to check out Sebastian Inlet Recreational Area between Melbourne Beach and Vero Beach, Florida. This park truly has it all including camping (RVs and tents), fishing, boating, picnicking, swimming, and beach combing.
We dropped our boats into the water at the park's boat ramp on the south side of the inlet. Parking cost us a little over $8.00. It was worth every penny since it was so convenient to our final destination. Boat trailer parking was ample and typical for a Florida boat ramp. I was told that there is parking for 75 vehicles with trailers.
Once all of our boats were in the water, we followed the channel markers out to the inter coastal water way and around into the inlet channel. We followed the inlet channel until we were just in front of the A-1-A bridge that crosses over the inlet channel. Off to our left (north) was the entrance to the cove where we went to park. This trip took about 10 to 15 minutes. We idled into the cove, dropped our anchors and were were ready for a great day.
From our location in the cove, we were able to go on shore to the cove's beach which had picnic tables or walk over to the the fishing bridge. There is a bait and tackle shop at the foot of the fishing bridge. The bridge extends into the inlet channel. We could also fish from the pier that sits along the jetty on the north side of the channel. The Atlantic Ocean was also a short walk from the cove where we could play in the waves, walk the beach and sun bath. The park also offers camp sites for RVs and tents.

As we were returning to the boat ramp at the end of the day, we saw that there were at least 100 boats anchored just to the south of the inlet channel near the tip of the southern portion of the park nearer to the inter coastal waterway. It appeared that most of these boaters were doing what were were doing in the cove; hanging out and having a good time. Yet another way to enjoy this fantastic place.
