Silver Glen Springs Day Trip

My family and I have been boating for the last several years. We look forward to going out at least once a month. When it’s my turn to pick our destination, everyone knows that it will be a trip to Silver Glen Springs. It has always been my favorite.

Florida Keys Trip

Every year my family and I go down to the Keys. We take our boat and the wave runners and just enjoy being on the water either fishing or snorkeling.

Disappearing Island at Ponce Inlet, Florida

During low tide every day, an island appears as the water recedes at the inlet where Ponce Inlet and New Smyrna almost meet. When it does, boaters from all around come to play on the pure sandy land. It is as if it were made for recreational boating!

Myakka River State Park Paddle

Myakka River State Park has it all: numerous alligators (who are not the least bit interested in humans), winding waters, and canoe rentals.

East Lake Tohopekaliga

Best known as East Lake Toho. This is a lake were I go when I need something nice and easy. Its close to were I live and have a lot friends that go there also.

Peanut Island, Florida

OK, get off the couch, throw the kids in the car, fuel the boat, drive 2.5 hours (from Orlando area) and GO HERE!!! To me, this is the ultimate Florida boating weekend. A 45 minute boat ride (about half on-plane), swimming, beach, snorkeling with tropical fish (some in waste-deep water) and even touristy stuff. Throw a great (kinda) kid-friendly restaurant in there (with some adult-friendly sights) and you have a weekend you'll (and the kids) will remember forever. If crowds of boats don't bother you (or rather interest you), this is for you. Honestly, we've done this twice and neither time has it been as crowded as Disappearing Island at Ponce Inlet). But, I've been told it can get busy.

Lake Norman is one of the largest lakes in the US with 520 miles of shoreline. Great opportunities for fun for families and friends.

Moss Park - Lake Mary Jane

For those who enjoy boating, skiing, wake boarding, camping and just plain relaxing, look no further than Moss Park. With two huge lakes, double-wide boat ramps, camp grounds, picnic area, and even a beach to park the boat you'll find plenty of activities to occupy your whole weekend.

Shell Key

I've been playing with boats all my life, from canoes and jon boats as a kid to working on 100 footers as a commercial fisherman in New England for a couple of years. I enjoy being on the water as much as anybody could, just ask my wife. My friends have said for years when we go with you it's not a trip it's an adventure.

Sebastian Inlet Recreational Area, Florida

On Labor Day weekend, 2007, we discovered a fantastic place to join our friends and fellow recreational boaters for a day of sun and fun. It is Sebastian Inlet Recreational Area in Florida on the Atlantic coast between Melbourne and Vero Beach.

Crystal River, Florida

We usually spend a lot of weekends during July, August, and the beginning of September in Crystal River because of scallop season.

Saint Augustine, overnight trip

This is a great weekend trip the whole family can enjoy.

It's Fiesta Time!

Birds are chirping, the temperature is rising, and Mother Nature is trying to awaken us from the awful winter weather that we had encountered this year in New England. New Englanders can now start their boating season, especially the boaters in Gloucester Massachusetts. Even though I am from New England, before last summer, I had never visited the beautiful city of Gloucester Massachusetts. Last June I was invited to an annual celebration in Gloucester and noticed that not only is Gloucester known for its fantastic seafood, beautiful ocean scenery, and fabulous beaches, but also for their annual fiesta called the St. Peters Fiesta.
